After approximately 6 years of construction work, Mollington Golf Club opened it's doors as a nine hole course on 1st May 1999. In December of that year the magnificent clubhouse was opened in time for the club's first major social event, millenium evening. Development work continued with a further 3 holes opening early in 2000 and finally, in May 2000 the full 18 holes opened.

Most golf course undergo changes over a period of time, and this has certainly been the case at Mollington as the original design was 'tweaked' to improve the layout and challenge that this course presents. Probably the most significant of these changes was the conversion of an already tricky little par 3, the 17th, into the club's signature hole, the Island green.
Already widely recognised as one of the finest layouts in cheshire, the club were pleased to be able to stage a Europro tour event in both 2005 and 2006. Testament to the challenge the course presents is the fact that the professional course record stands at 64, and the winning score over 3 days of golf stood at 11 under.

Not content with the already superb facility we have the club have embarked on further developments by instigating, in conjuction with Thorp Trees and the Foresty Commission, England, the planting of 20,000 trees over a 3 year period. 9000 have already been planted, and a further 9000 are due to be planted in November 2008. The definition that those already planted has brought to the course is something to behold and we can only believe that, once they have all been planted, and have matured for a few years there will be only one word for this course - 'stunning'
